Inanna Lady of Heaven

This painting was created in celebration of the principle of the Sacred Feminine that comes out of the Middle East. Inanna was from the ancient region called Mesopotamia. She was sacred to her people and inspired a golden age of beautiful, poetry and a time when the arts flourished. People were prosperous and generous to one another. She was the great constant in people’s lives, providing spiritual connection to the unseen world and championing humanity to be wise and live purposeful lives.

I re-imagined her as removing her cloak to reveal her presence againin the world. That she brings balance and hope to us all. She is the power of the Sun to grow new ideas. She is the quiet night with the stars and the Moon promising us peace.

I brought her to life again to remember that her journey up from the distant past is valuable for us all to bring to life once again.
