Teach Only Love

In the Far East holy men and women talk with their hands. The fingers move to a posture that is a spiritual sign language called "mudras." 

This painting is the representation of the great teaching posture or mudra known as "Teach Only Love." The Buddha himself is said to have used this hand gesture to communicate silently with his followers. Upon arriving at a large gathering of people, he would stand with his hands in this position before he delivered his sermons. 

In this painting I have a heart blooming from the fingertips of the ethereal hand of God telling us to teach only love. The heart is a symbol of love that we hold for our family and friends. The cosmic setting in blue space reminds us that love is not meant just for those we know. It is reminding us to love our planet and all humanity. I feel the hand is gifting us unconditional love. 

Light is radiating from the finger and thumb that are pressing together because love lights our way through darkness, showing us the way to truth. I would add that blue is the color of creativity, of expression and of hope. This painting then is an invitation to share our love with the world and to fill our hearts with hope.
